It was another beautiful morning at Gortgonis, Coalisland for the start of the A4 race. Decisions were being made on what clothes to wear and how many layers as the temperatures were higher than previous weeks. The A4 race began at 12 MD and involved 10 laps of the relatively short but hilly course.
The Newry Wheelers promoted John Haldane RR on 7 March saw a beautiful sunny day. The race involved 4 laps of the Newry / Warrenpoint Dual Carriageway circuit. Sunday 28th February saw the second open race of the Season. The weather was sunny and the roads were dry. The B race was to include A3s/A4s however due to a large number of sign ons, the A4′s had their own race. The pace was slow, especially on the uphill section between Nutt’s corner roundabout [...]
It was the first weekend of open racing. On Saturday, the Annaclone GP saw a nice morning but the roads were wet, dirty, covered in thorns from hedge cutting and extremely dangerous. The B race ended in a crash about 100 yeards from the finish involving around 7-8 riders. Thankfully Martin Tohill was not injured.
